When I drive the temperature gage starts to go up like it is starting to overheat and then it goes back down to where it is supposed to be, i think it is the thermostat, if so what kind of thermostat should i get?

Hi there,

This is sounding like a thermostat, just go to your dealer and ask for the correct one for your car, they should have it in stock (should) replace the seal as well and flush the coolant while you do the job.
