1993 Mazda 626 Alternator belt

My alternator belt broke today. I need instructions on how to replace it.

Hi Moms626,

Straight forward job.

Alternator has and adjustiing bolt, release it, do not take it out. Push alternator towards engine to enable belt to have clearance to slip in.

Use a bar to pry alternator outwards to tighten the tension, pull bar hard and release, then hold bar slightly to maintain tension and retighten adjusting bolt. You are done.

NOTE : If power steering and AC belts are in the way, you need to take them out first, same procedure.
