Dash light blinks once, pause then three times. Are there checks that an owner can make-fuses, connections etc-before turning it over to a dealer?

Under the seats there are sensors that detect if a person (or anything over a certain weight) is sitting there. If the contacts in the sensor are dirty, it will act weird causing your light to appear. Having the contacts cleaned at a dealer will cost about a hundred dollars or so depending on make model of vehicle and location. This sensor may or may not be the problem, but more than likely it is. I would let a professional dealer handle this issue as the air bag system is vital to your safety.
