Electrical problem
1989 Mazda 626 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles

Sometimes (usually in the morning - maybe the cooler temp. helps for some reason?) it starts fine. It turns over and no problem. But sometimes- more and more regularly, it just doesn't start at all. I used to be able to put it in neutral butr that doesn't work anymore. Also the parking brake light has come on and on the dashboard the park won't register P unless I push the shaft all the way forward. Any Ideas?

Thank you

Shifter cable
check shifter cable and adjust or replace if needed
check brake fluid in master cylinder if low switch will turn the brake light on
