Transmission problem
1989 Mazda 626 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

While driving I used the hold feature on my 1989 Mazda 626 LX to down shift as I was approaching a stopsign. Suddenly, my car seemed to go out of gear and will not go into any gear I select. I ran a pressure check on the tranny line and I have no pressure. The RPM's will drop when I try to put it into gear, but it does not go into gear. The hold light is flashing. Any ideas???

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

If you have no line pressure i would be suspecting a faulty torque converter or a failed pump, i feel that you will have to pull the transmission and check this first.
