Car is making noise, looked underneath and found problem. The joint between the two mufflers is rusted out. The rusted joint is not connected directly to catalytic converter. I believe only that joint needs replacement. Am I right? How much should it cost?

Thanks for the free advice! We ended up patching a piece instead of replacing the whole part and it cost $123 w/ oil change included.

But thanks to your help I had confidence going in. I always feel like i'm getting hosed at some places i've had my car serviced before.

I'll definitely use this site and try and donate in the future. Thanks again!

You're welcome and glad that you have fixed the problem, at least for now.

When rust forms, they could be all over the places and depending on condition, patching might work only temporarily. You patch up one place but others would give way sooner or later. Hope it is only one single place that is bad and the ipe can last.

Have a nice day.
