Hi, what could be the problem when the oil indicator doesn't turn off after I start my car's engine?

You hear any type of knocking noises? If not could be the oil pressure sending unit out of calibration or the oil pump pressure relief valve is sticking and also a wiring problem

Hi, thanks for the reply. I don't here any unusual noise. Also, I would like to know if it's safe to drive the car to the nearest motorshop (about a mile) to have a mechanic check the problem. My wife hasn't changed the oil for a year, will a change oil and tuneup solve the problem?
