1991 Mazda 323 Muffler problems?

While driving my car sounded louder than usual. I think I may have a hole in my muffler, would that make my car idol and rev like a sports car, and give it a slight vibrations?

Yes it could, get the exhaust checked and repaired also a tune would not help at this stage either.
