1989 Mazda 323 cutting outing

just got my Mazda 323 love it but when the car has warmed up it seems to struggle to tick over when i stop and on occasions it actually cuts outs its ticks over at about 700/800 revs but drops to 300/400 revs then picks up again but has i said it does also cut out it starts back up without any problems any ideas to help

Check the fuel pressure/idle speed control valve and throttle position sensor.
