When transmission is put into drive the engine starts jerking and shuts off

When I start the car it does not have any problem, the engine runs smoothly, but when I put it to drive or reverse the engine start to jerking and the engine shuts off.

It sounds like the transmission range sensor is shorting out but we should start by running the codes to see what comes up. Here are to guides to help us get started:

You could just need a throttle bore service please disconnect the battery first.
