Will not start anymore. The last time it started four months ago it idled erratically and shook and shut off when you give it gas. It has not started since. Fuel pump is good. I am short on cash so I need a solid answer before I replace.

You must do the diagnostics first, you need to prove fuel pressure is correct, injection pulse and spark are okay and check for any codes. And with the symptoms you have also any vacuum leaks, you need to do these steps first.

Hey CHANNING,

I would start with the code numbers maybe he is getting mixed up with a crankshaft sensor, Next I would do a compression test to see if there is an internal problem with the engine before you go dumping money into it.

Here are some guide that will help you get started.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

and

Please run some tests and get back to us so we can continue helping you.

Best, Ken
