I started off with one code for the mass air flow sensor. I pulled the mass air flow sensor and housing out, cleaned with MAF cleaner and replaced it. The car was fine for a year or so. Recently the check engine light came on I reset the codes and it came on again. At this point I figured it was time to replace the MAF. After replacing the MAF sensor with a SKP part from Rock Auto I take a drive down the road and back with no issues in performance. While I’m driving back the check engine light turns on and I get 10 codes! Still the car feels normal and runs normal as far as I can tell. So I figure the MAF sensor is faulty so I put the old OEM MAF back on same ten codes. Now I should add that while tightening the two bolts that secure the MAF sensor to the air filter box I created a hairline crack that can be seen from the indiscriminate of the housing. I was told by AutoZone this shouldn’t be an issue just to put some JB weld on the crack. Really need help on this one before I spend money I don’t have. Appreciate anyone’s help thank you very much. Error codes I’m getting: P0174 Bank 1, P0171, P0172, P2187, P2188, P0174 Bank2, P0175, P2189 and P2190.

Hi,

P0171 - Bank 1 too lean
P0172 - Bank 1 too rich
P0174 - Bank 2 too lean
P0175 - Bank 2 too rich
P2187 - Bank 1 too lean at idle
P2188 - Bank 1 too rich at idle
P2189 - Bank 2 too lean at idle
P2190 - Bank 2 too rich at idle

Based on these codes you most likely have an air leak. So that crack that you found is either not sealed or there are other leaks. Anytime you have an issue that is effecting Bank 1 and Bank 2 it is normally something that is common to both like the fuel delivery or in this case the MAF.

Maybe send a picture of the crack so we can see what we are dealing with. However, JB weld is good but unless you get it in the crack completely then it will not work.
