Unlikely that the rattle triggered the light. The Service Due light comes on for oil changes, air filter, timing belt, cabin air filter, spark plugs, coolant changes, rotate the tires, transmission service or another regularly scheduled maintenance items. On the Rogue there are Oil - Oil change due, Tires - Tire rotation or service due, and Other. Which is everything else that is normally serviced.
When the scheduled item is done they reset the light so it comes on at the next scheduled interval. It can also be reset using the menu items accessed through the trip computer
If the check engine light comes on it is a different thing, that light indicates there is an issue that the computer has detected with the vehicle, that will set a code that the shop or you can read and it will give a direction about what the problem might be.
The rattle could be anything from a loose heat shield, worn suspension part, loose brake components or similar. Very hard to say without hearing it or knowing what normally triggers it like bumps or revving the engine or, but those are the common ones for rattles.
