Code p0101, will not start after replacing the MAF?

put scanner and show p0101 which is MAF sensor. I replaced sensor with a new sensor, but the car did not start, then put the old sensor and it started. what could be?

A P0101 code indicates a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit specifically, that the MAF sensor signal is out of the expected range.

Did the car start before the sensor has replaced? If so you have defective part or it is not installed correctly, (backwards). Also, does the engine sounds normal when cranking? If there is no air being pulled through the sensor the engine will not start. If you are unsure please upload a short video from under the hood of the engine cranking so I can see if the engine is hurt or not, I can tell by watch the video. Here is the correct direction of the sensor. Check out the images (below). Please upload videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.

No with the new sensor don't start but when I replace the old sensor and start right away. thanks for your response.

Sensor is connected correctly in the right position but with the new sensor it won't start just crank but as soon as I replace the old sensor the car starts right away. the RPMs are high at around 1,500 RPMs hope that helps so you can help me please. thanks

Okay, it sounds like you have a defective replacement part. I would get another one :) Also, check the air tube and boots for leaks.
