Low power and runs hot

Car starts easy, idle smooth, has very little power runs hot.

Hi,

My first thought is a plugged catalytic converter. Are there any odd sounds or smells from the exhaust? If so, remove an oxygen sensor before the converter. That will allow additional airflow. It won't be perfect, but if the converter is plugged, you will notice a difference in power with it out.
