Low Oil Pressure?

My truck had a lifter noise and a low oil pressure, so I changed the oil and still low oil pressure. so, I took it to a mechanic and replaced the Camshaft, Camshaft bearing, Piston's bearing, Lifter, Rocker Arms, Pushrods, Oil Pressure Sensor, Oil Pressure relief Valve, Oil pump, O-ring with the tube, Fuel Injectors the Spark Plugs with the Wires, Cylinder Deactivation Manifold, Timing Chain. Took the heads to a machine shop, and all the gaskets. the oil pressure goes from 45 PSI to 9PSI slowly.

Hi,

When the engine is cold, does it drop to 9 psi? Also, what engine size does the vehicle have? Also, keep in mind, if they replaced the main and connecting rod bearings, were the clearances/tolerances checked? In other words, was crankshaft wear considered? Same with the camshaft?

Let me know. Also, once I know the engine size, I can tell you if 9 psi is too low.

It's a 5.3. When I start the truck is at around 45 PSI, and when it gets warm it drops to 9 PSI slowly. The camshaft had some wear and the bearings, and the mechanic said that the piston's bearings had some wear too, but I don't think that they checked the clearances/tolerances. I gave over $5,000.00 to that mechanic and still the same low oil pressure.

Hi,

That is below the manufacturer's specifications. See pic below. Is this reading from the instrument cluster? Have you tried using a mechanical gauge to see if it is the same?
