Engine makes a ticking sound after driving with low oil?

My car just started making a ticking sound, I found low in oil added some to it but making noise still. have i done damage and how bad? The oil light and engine light never came on.

It sounds like you may have a valve train issue which can be caused by low oil. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. I don't want you to do unnecessary repairs, but I need to hear the noise to help guide you.
