I'm having issues with my front passenger headlight. My low beams and my blinker will not work. I have redone all the wiring, I have reground the wires as well. I had a burn spot on my connector to the headlight, so I replaced the connector as well. I made sure all wires were together properly, they're all taped very tightly, they are not loose all the wiring is new and the plug is new. The headlight worked for 2 days and now it is back out. Mind you the high beams have worked the entire time. But my low beam and my blinker will not. I don't know what to do I have tried everything I can think of as far as replacing the blinker bulb and the headlight bulb as well down to the wiring. Everything is fine. How do I figure this out what do I do next where should I start now? This is getting so irritating it's been going on for months now please help.

Hi,

I looked at the wiring schematic and saw why you are frustrated. At the headlamp assembly, I'm seeing several wires. Also, note that the right low beam and the front right signal lamp both get power from the same wire coming from the body control module.

We have two ways to try and resolve this. First, scan the can-bus to see if there are codes related to the body control module (BCM).

Second, check to see if there is power out from the BCM via a brown wire with a blue tracer. If there isn't power at the BCM connector, chances are the BCM is the issue.

I attached two pics below showing the wiring I'm referring to. Take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Take care,

Joe

The other day it randomly started working and was fine the entire day, then decided it no longer wanted to work again. I heard that if you try to change the bulb to brighter halogen bulbs you have to update your system or something like that, is that true? Do you have to stay with the normal headlight they come with? And yest that wire is getting power as well.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. As far as the bulb goes, stay with the OEM type bulb. As far as the issue, when the bulb stops working, move the wiring around that supplies power to see if it flickers or comes back on. If there is no change, then do the same with the back wire to ground located at the left front of the engine compartment. See pics below.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

I have to keep everything on the site. However, if you use something like the snipping tool, you could download the pics and print them. Also, if you right-click on the pic, you should see an option saying, "save image as." Do that, save it to a file, and print from there.

Let me know if that helps.

Take care,

Joe
