Put a Fusion 2.5 in my Mazda3 that died. All has been fine for about 3,000 miles and the other night I noticed a loud tapping sound after I turned off the radio. Here is a clip: https://youtu.be/S0HReP-8hb8

It sounds like it is the top end to me, and it quiets down a little when the motor warms up.

I have tried seafoam it and then changed the oil. I pulled the valve cover this morning and nothing looks obviously wrong to me.

sounds like a cam follower if overhead cam or a loose rocker arm if push-rod. could need an adjustment or it is a lifter.
