First a little history the clutch, throwout barring, and pressure plate were all replaced about 4 or 5 years ago.

Coming home today the truck randomly started making a loud squealing noise when pressing the clutch, the sound is just like that of a bad belt, so I checked the belt but it looks fine, no frying chips or cracks, power steering, break and clutch fluid all looked good. It makes the noise when not pushing the clutch but pushing the clutch makes it much much louder.

REALLY SOUNDS LIKE THE THROW OUT BEARING

ON MY JEEPS, IF THEY ARE MIS-ADJUSTED AND THEY CONSTANTLY RIDE ON THE CLUTCH COVER THEY ARE TURN ALL OF THE TIME (INSTEAD OF SITTING IDLE, UNTIL THE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED). ALL OF THIS PROBLEM, ON EITHER ONE OF MY JEEPS, IS CAUSED BY ADJUSTING THE FORK A LITTLE TOO TIGHT

IN OTHER WORDS THEY WILL PREMATURELY WEAR OUT

IN FACT, FOR THAT VERY REASON, IF I'M SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT OR ANY STOP, OVER THE YEARS I HAVE FORCED MYSELF TO GO INTO NEUTRAL AND LET GO OF THE CLUTCH PEDAL.I USED TO REST MY FOOT ON THE PEDAL WHILE DRIVING (AND THE BEARING WOULD SPIN). NOT ANY MORE. NO NEEDLESS THROW OUT BEARING SPINNAGE FROM ME!

SINCE THEN (ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO) I REPLACED THE THROW OUT BEARING IN "WILLY", MY '46 WILLYS, WHEN IT STARTED THE SAME RACKETS YOU ARE DESCRIBING. IT HAD LASTED 20 YEARS!

I ALSO REPLACED THE THROW OUT BEARING IN "MR. JEEP", MY 77 CJ 5, WHEN I REPLACED 100% OF THE GUTS IN THE TRANNY.I DID THE THROW OUT BEARING ONLY AS PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, SINCE I WAS ALREADY IN THERE. IT TOO WAS ABOUT 20 YEARS OLD, BUT STILL WORKING FINE

.I HONESTLY THOUGHT MINE SHOULDA LASTED LONGER!

I DRIVE "MR. JEEP" DAILY, AND "WILLY" QUITE A BIT DURING WARM WEATHER, AND EVERY CHANCE I GET. HE IS SORTA MY "SHOW PIECE".I "SHOW" HIM ON THE ROAD, NOT TWICE A YEAR AT A CAR SHOW

I DON'T KNOW HOW YOURS ADJUSTS OR IF IT EVEN DOES, SEEMS THAT 5 YEARS IS A SHORT LIFE, UNLESS YOU ARE "HARD ON IT", MAYBE YOURS WAS SPINNING CONSTANTLY (LIKE PREVIOUS HAPPENED ON MY OTHER JEEPS)

IT COULD ALSO BE POSSIBLE THAT THE CLUTCH COVER IS THE ISSUE

I KNOW I WASN'T MUCH HELP---BUT MAYBE WHEN YOU ATTACK IT AGAIN ----SOMETHING I OFFERED MIGHT PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE NEXT ONE

ARE YOU GONNA PUT ALL NEW STUFF IN. WHILE YOU ARE IN THERE. ARE YOU GONNA DIY IT?

KEEP US POSTED ON PROGRESS

As CJ said, it sounds like the throw out bearing. There could also be a broken finger on the pressure plate that isn't releasing properly.
