There’s a knocking noise from when I start the car, it’s not too bad. Once I step on the brakes and shift it in R the noise gets louder, but when I turn the A/C on, the noise or knocking gets really loud. When I accelerate to D the knocking stops and no loss of power of any kind. When I start slowing down the knocking resumes. What do you think the problem might be?

Is this noise there as soon as you start the engine? Is it possible to get a recording of the noise? If it is there all the time even when idling the engine then it is most likely a spun bearing.

This is clearly a distinct noise so hearing it will really help confirm this.

Here is a guide that will help with different engine noises:

Clearly this may not cover what you are experiencing so I think a video is going to be the best next step. Thanks
