Hi,

When you place it in gear, do you hear any noise that would indicate the transmission is responding? Have you checked the transmission fluid level and condition?

Do me a favor. I want you to check if there are any diagnostic trouble codes stored that are related to the transmission. You don't need a scan tool on this vehicle. All that will be needed is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip. Follow the directions in the following link and let me know what is found.

Let me know what you find or if you have questions. Also, let me know the condition of the transmission fluid. As far as the transfer case, usually, there is an indication when they are failing. So, let me know if there was anything you noticed before the issue started.

Take care,

Joe
