Hi I have a ve golf gt tdi when I accelerate the power seems to go and black smoke appear then when I switch engine off and back on the power seems to come back then after driving for a bit it then seems to happen again. Any ideas.

sounds like either a fuel problem or the injectors need cleaning or replacements

The ECM is cutting boost (air) due to "overboost" detection. Once you turn it off and back on, things are find until the ECM detects too much
boost again.

This is a common problem due to carbon build-up in a couple of places.

I have got these cleaned out but also changed new oil filter.. Someone sec it would be the actuator that needs changing and someone said boost pressure switch please could anyone help? And how much it would be. Thanks
