Driving for 5 minutes or so start to lose power and car shuts off and will not start again. Sometimes starts after a while. Had breakdown service to it not showing any fault codes, fuel getting through etc., even they at a loss. Told could be ECU, changed it still the same , put new battery on, same. Seems like no one got the answer, just at a loss.

Hi,

First, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so my technical information is very limited. However, I will try my best to help.

When it doesn't start, have you checked to see if there is spark to the plugs? If you haven't here is a link that shows how to check:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-an-ignition-system

If there is no spark, there is a chance the problem is related to the crankshaft position sensor. When these sensors start going bad, heat affects them. Once they cool off, they start working again.

Take a look through this link and let me know if it seems to mirror what you experience:

If it seems to mirror what you experience, here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/crankshaft-angle-sensor-replacement

When I question one of these, I use a live data scan tool to see if there is an RPM signal when cranking. No signal usually indicates a bad sensor.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
