Loss of power

Driving 70 MPH then a little buck, power loss, slowed down but could drive just not faster than third gear. Sputtery, gassy smell. (Similar thing happened 2 weeks prior but hose to air cleaner had come off so assumed it was just because it was sucking air) so the car sat overnight and, in the morning, ran fine for about twenty miles then same issue. Then drove it slowly to get it home. After 15 miles, it fixed itself and ran fine. Next day, I started it, and ran badly. Replaced plug wires just in case, checked plugs, codes say random miss, camshaft sensor, coil and 02 sensor. But running bad messes the other sensors up. Is there more than one coil? What makes it act like that in the first place.

Also, prior to the first episode, there were no codes.

Hi,

The idea you smell fuel is concerning. Does it come through the vents? Is there any dark smoke from the exhaust? Does anything rattle under the vehicle?

Let me know. Also, could you provide the specific codes you retrieved?

Let me know.

Joe

No black smoke, gas through vents, fuel mixture is obviously off. Will give codes shortly.

Hi Joe,

I have a question about a different vehicle. 2003 Subaru legacy wagon. We had a gas smell, someone told us to clean the MAF sensor. We accidentally took off the TPS. Anyway, the gas smell was a loose hose connection. Easy fix. But now we run a code p0122 and p1700. We did nothing
else but take it off and put it back. There were no codes before we did that. So, we realized it needs to be adjusted and recalibrated. We have tried several times. We have a multi meter, we set it and go through the relearn process. But it still comes up with the same codes. Idle in park is good 750. But when you put it in gear it drops to 500 and runs rough. It drives but not quite right but the tranny hammers because the idle is off. What are we missing when we reset the TPS?
Thank you for your help.
