Truck starts after standing overnight and idles rough and shuts off. when i start it gain it rough idles and after few seconds idles right and when I drive at about 3/4 throttle truck pulls, but full throttle bakkie nosedives and lack power. This problem started after I took the truck to a Ford dealer to replace the clutch and flywheel. I changed the coil pack and fuel filter. This problem goes away sometimes and the truck pull like it used to.

Hi,

Are there any odd smells from the exhaust or rattling sounds from the exhaust? Is the check engine light on or flashing when the engine is running?

Since the problem goes away at times, the first thing I think of is a bad coolant temperature sensor. By chance, do you have a live data scan tool? If you do, could you let me know what the sensor indicates when the engine is cold? Also, could you let me know the short-term fuel trims?

Let me know. Also, let me know if there are diagnostic codes stored and what they are.

Take care,

Joe
