Hi,

Do you see any leaks? I ask because there is what I like to call a silent recall. I realize you have 122,000 on it, but to the best of my knowledge, the powertrain warranty was extended. Please don't quote me, but I believe the warranty was extended to 15 years or 150,000.

Do you hear any ticking or knocking from the engine? Keep in mind, even if the engine is leaking oil, it can be a fire hazard which is one of the things prompting the recall.

Let me know. Also, you may consider contacting a Kia dealer and ask if your vehicle falls under the oil consumption service bulletin/recall.

Let me know what they tell you.

Take care,

Joe

Ronald, make sure you tell them when you call about the noise. There are connecting rod bearing issues as well.

Hopefully, they will replace the engine under warranty with an updated new engine. LOL

Let me know.
