My steering went loose one morning and I took it to the mechanics and they looked underneath the car thoroughly and could not find any problems. I remembered today that the night before I had parked the car and there was a bit of turn on the wheel. As i got out the car i knocked the wheel and it turned about thirty degrees and there was a small click, but I thought nothing of it. Next time I drove it was when the steering was light. Any ideas of what that click may have been?

The click was likely the steering wheel lock clicking in. As for what would make it suddenly feel loose, That car has a pretty basic rack and pinion set-up. Steering main shaft to an intermediate to the U-joint into the rack. Should not feel like heavy steering. I looked at the FSM and do not really see anything that would not show up as a problem when they looked at it.
