I’m trying to find the mode door actuator on the left front. Removed lower panel and side panel for console and the only one that is there on the top is the amplifier part number 277523JC1B there is no other one there.

Hi,

If you look at the picture below, it shows the location of the mode door actuator regardless of whether it has automatic or manual climate control. It will be in the same place.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe,

Yes, I see that’s the only one up there. I removed that, and the part number was 277523JC1B which when I looked it up said that was called a bracket air conditioner amplifier. The part number that Nissan gave me for the mode door was 27731-3SBOA, which looks totally different. But it has the same white square on it where it hooks onto the door lever, but it’s a lot smaller than the part I took out. Nissan will not take the part back. I spent hours looking for it and I removed some plastic ducts and there is nothing there, just that part called bracket amplifier. Which is about $500.00. I have manual climate control.

Below is a picture of the mode door actuator they gave me. Joe, the picture you gave me looks like the amplifier which is bigger and flatter the new part I got from the dealer, has the same white square part that will hook up the same way, but I don’t know about the mounting where it hooks up to the case that I never tried because it’s totally different.

The part number on the actuator you have is for a 2017 like yours. So, I have to say it is correct. The number I provided appears to have been superseded.

If you look below, I reattached the entire pic of the actuator locations. Additionally, the second pic is the legend for the identified actuators.

Note that number 2 is the mode door. Is that the one you removed?

Let me know.

Joe

Yes, that’s correct. I wanted to ask you if; I changed the air mix actuator and the air intake actuator the climate control is acting a little strange do the actuators need to be reprogrammed?

Hi,

I just went through procedures for all actuators. None of them indicate the need for reprogramming. What are they doing that seems odd? Was the battery disconnected when you replaced them?

Let me know.

No, I didn’t disconnect battery, but now when I say I put the heat the fan speed is very low and if I shut the car off and just put the ignition on and don’t start car, then it works normal. Then start the car, it will work normally as soon as I change it to a different mode and back to the mode that the air is blowing on my face, it will go back to a low speed again. Then sometimes it will not switch to different modes. I then go up under dash on drivers' side and then touch the mode door linkage and then works normal.I didn’t have all these issues until I changed the actuators.

Is the linkage properly connected? Also, is the actuator fully seated?

If both are good, try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes. Reconnect the battery and then turn the key on and wait for about 30 seconds. See if it resets. If it doesn't, then I suspect the linkage is the issue.

Let me know.

Hello Joe, thanks for getting back to me. You remember I was looking for the mode actuator. I went to a shop, and he looked it up and told me it’s on the top had to remove top of instrument panel remove the radio and bingo there was where the problem was. The linkage popped off because the mode actuator was bad. I opened it up and the plastic gear was missing a couple of teeth and had a lot of play. Installed a new actuator and good to go. Thank you for all your help.

Thank you, Joe, for all your help. You will be hearing more from me. I don’t have any Alldata or Mitchell because it really is not worth it for me to get it I’m really not that busy enough to get it.

Hi Joe, this is Tom. I have another question for you. My daughter has got a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 it has a trouble code po452. My scanner says NVLD pressure switch stuck closed gas cap looks good. Could it be the vacuum leak detection pump on the charcoal canister be bad?

Hi Tom,

The code is for the natural vacuum leak detection pump and could be related to a few different things, including the switch itself.

I need to ask a favor. We try to keep the threads specific to one topic so it is more helpful to others. I need you to copy your question and add it to a new thread. I hope you understand. I always feel bad asking. LOL

Here is the link to start a new thread. Just copy and paste your new question and we'll get on it for you. I will watch for it.

Take care and again, I hope you understand.
