Overheating issue

I changed thermostat and radiator. Water pump is working. There is a hose on the top of the coolant reservoir that connects to a metal line that goes into the engine, that line had a crack. Took that off and found it clogged up with what looked like rust. Could this be the issue why the car is over heating? Does anyone know what this line is called so I can order a new one? Thank you

Yes. This line is the heater return hose. So if that was clogged, I suspect the vent line was clogged as well. If those are clogged then the system will over heat because the system will get what is called a vapor lock in it and will not be very efficient. Once this happens the coolant will actually boil and the engine will over heat. I attached the detail below on these lines.
