So, I cant seem to find anything or any replacement information on the housing itself for the lock cylinder. In particular the ignition actuator pin. The very end of this part that passes through the section of a rotating rod, the end of this that turns the ignition switch itself snapped, making it nowhere near strong enough to turn the switch, a screwdriver still works just fine The white plastic needle itself looks rough as well. I cant seem to find replacement parts for this, so is this something specific that you must replace the entire steering column behind the steering wheel? Or can you technically switch that whole assembly with a similar year cavalier, (mine is manual shift), Second question, Even if your car starts with a screwdriver, with the anti-theft light and service light on, as well as those systems clearly working, how do you get those lights off of the cluster panel? Do you have to still do the passlock reset regardless? Im at a loss, if anyone can steer me in the right direction. Thanks

Hello,

The security system must be enabled before the car will run right so you must use the correct key or be able to reset the system by following this guide.

Here are diagrams to help you see how the disassemble the column. Check out the diagrams (Below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Cheers, Ken

Hey Ken,
Just to make sure, are those pictures also going to apply to the 2.4L? I seem to have a red headed step child and is built completely different than the 2.2L, with the addition of manual shift, I did see from one of the pictures the problem I have is #12 the Ignition Lock Cylinder Assembly, This assembly also seems to be different than the others where it doesnt have two screws to access this piece.
