Lock cylinder will not turn

My lock cylinder went bad, the key would not turn the cylinder nor would the key come out. So I pushed the pin to release the old cylinder and it come out. I got a new one, installed it and still would not turn. I double checked for debris and made sure it was the correct part. All checked out, but the new lock cylinder will not turn. Any ideas?

Hello,

It sounds like the ignition switch down on the column has gone bad. Here is a diagram to help you see what you are in for when checking the switch. I would remove the switch and see if the lock turns.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.
