Where is the Crank shaft sensor located?

The sensor in the distributor provides both cam and crank information to the ECM. Testing it for output is easy, use a voltmeter set to AC volts and connect the meter to ground and to the PIP circuit (gray with orange striped wire) at the ignition module connector. You should see 3 - 8.5 volts AC while the engine is turning over. To test further, leave the meter connected to the same wires, switch it to DC volts and disconnect the coil power lead. Then with the key on, turn the engine over by hand using the crankshaft or drive belt while watching the meter. If you see the voltage toggle between less than 2 volts and more than 8 volts, the CID sensor is working, and the problem isn't the sensor.
