location of the crank shaft position sensor needed

most sources I found said the crankshaft position sensor is located in the front of the engine by the crankshaft pulley but there is nothing there on my engine.

You are correct that the crank sensor is normally in this position but your engine should have a distributor ignition system. If so they normally include the crank sensor in the distributor. Take a look at this info below. There is not an actual sensor, it is basically determined by the module through terminal C.
