I would love to hear from you guys where the heck is that sending unit located. It seems it is the one to blame because my mini van has a very poor idle speed and high fuel consumption. I have the engine light on. Thanks.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

You listed this as a 3.0L but I am only showing a 3.8. If that is not correct, let me know.

Here are two links you may find of interest. The first discusses symptoms of a bad sensor. The second shows how in general to replace one.

The sensor is located on the front portion top section of the engine. Here are the directions specific to your vehicle for replacement and the two attached pictures correlate with these directions:

________________________

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Partially drain the cooling system.
3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.

4. Remove the ECT.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.
