I have a 1995 Lincoln Towncar Presidential Series with 162,000 miles.

When I close my trunk a motor takes over and completes the closing process. When I went to close it a bit ago it would not do that. I noticed that the trunk light is not lit when the trunk is open.

Are these realted and how do I check to see if i have a fuse or mechanical problem or both?

Thank You

check for voltage at the motor. if there is voltage then change the motor or switch to turn it on. if no voltage look for a blown fuse in your fusebox.
