door Chime

I have a 96 Lincoln Town Car, 4.6 v-8, 187,000 mi.'s. My door chime goes on dinging with the key in or out I can't find the sensor for it anywhere and when I try to disconect the bell the alarm goes off. I need help!!! Please this is driving me Crazy!!!

Try looking on the iside jamb of the driver's side door. I know on some cars the peg that sticks out to let the car know that the door is open can be popped out. You could unplug the sensor from it which will turn the chime off. I did it in my friend's Mustang GT but I'm not 100% sure that's how your's is.
