My heater/air blower only comes on when it wants to.

It refuses to blow anywhere but on defrost...

It doesn't matter if it's 12 degrees or 112 ...sometimes it comes on after I've been driving for a bit... sometimes not at all...

I'm not sure if It's a Continental...but definitely a Lincoln 2001 car.

Hi Mindy,

I need to know the vehicle model. Also, is the airflow direction that is the concern, or does the blower motor turn on and off?

As far as airflow direction is concerned, it is controlled by the engine vacuum. If there is a leak in one of the hoses, it can cause this to happen. However, the vacuum schematics are different for a Continental and a Town Car.

Take a look through this link and let me know if it helps:

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
