Engine Performance problem
2004 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

car shudders primarily at low speeds, in overdrive,going up grades. Has also occured in 3rd gear under similar conditions. Can't tell if it's an engine or transmisson problem.

How many miles on it? and is the check engine light on? Any noises noticed?

the car has 50,000 miles. no engine light has come on. other than jerky motion of the car during this problem, there is no noise.

Have the fuel pressure checked, and transmission fluid changed by the machine method, this pumps new fluid in as the old is pumped out, it washes the debris away, can be related to either...may need for it to get worse(check engine light) may need to come on...
