2000 Lincoln Town Car shift lock

car will start and run just won`t allow the shifter to move.how ever if i remove the shift lock fuse i can move the lever.but that also disengages the air suspension and cruise control.what part do i need to replace? thank you

Get a test light and see if the green wire on the brake switch (located under dash on pedal assembly) goes to power when brake is depressed. If no, then the switch may be out of adjustment or not working, if it has power then the actuator could be the culprit. It is located on the column.Test it for power when brake depressed
