1998 Lincoln Town Car Battery won't recharge

I have replaced the battery and have a new alternater (2nd one). Yet the battery won't recharge. The wiring appeares O.K., and I was told to check fuses. I don't know what fuses to check, or where they are located. Thanks, Lee
