1998 lincoln town car... anytime you turn there is a loud grinding or sheering sound but when driving straight its fine... I even tried when the vehicle was stopped and it makes the same sound just as loud, you just have to barely turn the steering wheel and it make the noise... but its not hard to steer at all. Is it the power steering pump? does it need replace? what is it?

No the fix is one of the hoses to the pump needs to be replaced...F8AZ-3A719-AA Power steering hose kit. TSB# 98-25-8
This replaces the pressure hose...The other thing is make sure the pump is full, use Mercon V ATF as power steering fluid!
