1997 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi There , I have a question. I have a 1997 lincoln town car that has an electriec trunk motor. Now when I shut the trunk it's supposed to go down and lacth it's self, but now when I shut the trunk it wont lacth

is the electric motor engaging and brining hood down?

is the motor not engaging or bringing hood down at all?

hood just latching and staying up?
