SUNROOF SWITCH REPLACMENT

Hi, the sunroof switch is bad. How do you remove it so a new one can be put in. How do you remove the roof console for the removal of the sunroof switch of my 1997 town car. It seems like it has a release somewhere, but no idea where. Thanks---bill

Hello,

Here are the instructions to replace the sunroof switch

REMOVAL

Remove roof console.
Disconnect wiring connector on side of roof console.
Carefully spread center walls of roof console to release center circuit plate and expose roof sliding panel switch.

Remove wiring assembly connector by releasing connector retaining tab on side wall of roof console with a flat-bladed screwdriver and sliding connector off its locating finger.
Using a small screwdriver, pry apart the two switch retaining tabs and remove switch assembly.

INSTALLATION

Connect electrical connector to roof sliding panel switch.
Snap roof sliding panel switch securely into roof console.
NOTE: The roof sliding panel switch is "keyed" and can only be installed one way.
