Hey guys hope you can help me. I'm ignorant to most stuff when it comes to cars. I just bought a 97' lincoln from a buy here pay here. I fell on hard times dealing and helping out my mother so I had to buy this quick so I wouldn't lose a job. After the first day the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON!
I know I can get a dianostic test done, but WHAT ARE THE COMMON THINGS THAT GO WRONG WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR!
ANY INFO. WILL HELP.

Nick Hi: The dianostic test is the only way to resolve these problems there are so many causes in todays systems for the Check Engine light to come on, a "Most common does not exist or would be valueless. If you have some knowledge of cars. Call around to parts places and see if you can rent or if you can drive the car to a parts store some will let you use it in there parking lot. In many cases this could be an emissions problem and may not effect driveability of the car. Any operating symptoms?
