1995 Lincoln Town Car Side door panel removal

I need to replace the side view mirror on the passenger side of my 1995 Lincoln Town car. Does this require the inside door panel to be removed? If so, how is this done?

I am not a pro mechanic but would expect you would have to remove the door panel.
This most likely has electronic mirror positioning and or a heating function, requiring wire interface plugs and mounting bolts be dissconected.
