1992 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Have a 1992 Lincoln Town Car and the driver side door top hinge pin [img:dd6fa8c9db]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/517575_100_2138_2.jpg[/img:dd6fa8c9db][img:dd6fa8c9db]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/517575_100_2137_1.jpg[/img:dd6fa8c9db]
slot has a long gated and the pin moves loosely causing the door to hang down and difficult to open. Is there a repair hinge kit? It looks like one would need to remove the dash board to get to one of the hinge bolts that is attached to the chassis to get to the bolt head

Hi thomkelley. Welcome to the forum. See your local parts store for one of their "problem solvers". There will be a display rack full of such things as hinge repair kits. It will include the pin and two bushings.

Support the opened door with a stack of lumber covered with a piece of carpeting to prevent scratching the paint. Punch out the old bushings. There is a flange on one end of each bushing. In some cases you might want to grind that flange off to make pounding the bushing out easier. It might help to have a helper to position the door to line up the holes. The door is real heavy.
