1992 Lincoln Town Car Airbag Icon flashing

1992 LINCOLN TOWN CAR
28,000 MILES • V8 • 2WD • AUTOMATIC

While driving the car the " airbag Icon " will flash.
It will flash three times and stop, will flash four times and stop. It will continure to flash in that order.

Is that a problem that should be looked at, or is this something I can reset?

Hi there,

These are fault codes that a dealer will need to investigate and rectify, working on SRS is dangerous for the untrained, get a dealer or a qualified mechanic to do this.

Thank you very much, I thought it may be just that, I wonder if it would be costly to correct, does it hurt anything to just let it flash?

As for cost this will be unknown until we know what is at fault a scan will show this, and while the light is flashing, all SRS are in-op no air bag deployment will occur in an accident.
