Greetings. I am replacing my water pump. I am taking off the fan blade, BUT it will not come off. When i have done other cars in the past I just remove the 4 or 5 bolts and it comes off the water pump. I have taken off the 4 small bolts but is will not come off? There appears to be an "extension" that attaches to the water pump on this Lincoln. There is a Large 1 1/2 hega shaped extention shaped shaft. MY question is.... Other than the regular bolts what the heck is holding the fan blade on??? Thanks Markshenel

Your vehicle has an electric fan is it a 1991?
What you describe is an older model. so the big hex nut you described is what holds it on . Big wrench IMPORTANT LEFTHAND THREADS.
