1990 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1990 lincoln town car and the exaust getss cherry red hot from the catalatyc converter to where the pipe ends at the manifold.

You need to check for exhaust restrictions, probably the converter "Bed" has broken up, or melted, and is choking the exhaust, but it can also be air pump failure, or overly rich fuel air mixture.
